Meet our Team!
Carolyn Thomas: Co-Founder, Program Manager
Carolyn Thomas serves as Program Manager for Ransomed Life, overseeing all activities that directly minister to the girls of Ransomed Life. Upon learning of the effects of Human Trafficking and its devastation on the entire family, Carolyn sought to learn all she could about Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and its long-term effects in hopes of benefiting survivors. Carolyn is a single mother of two adult children. She has a love and passion for young people who are lost and hurting.
Sarassa Inglis: Director of Administration
She became passionate about the victims and survivors of human trafficking in college. Sarassa has been a mentor with Ransomed Life for 2.5 years and she desires to see the victims find a place of restoration and healing. As Director of Administration, she handles the procedures and processes for all volunteers, maintains government compliance, oversees Ransomed Life’s programs and budgets, and aids in trainings. Sarassa holds a Bachelor’s degree from Birmingham Southern College in Psychology. She came on board with Ransomed Life full time in November 2016.
Kim Van Hooser: Co-Founder-Executive Director (2014-2016)
Kim Van Hooser has a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. She holds a BA in psychology, with a minor in Child and Adolescent psychology.
Since 2012 she has worked directly with survivors of human trafficking and sexually exploited children. She has been a volunteer, advocate, trainer, social worker and executive director in the field of human trafficking. Frustrated with lack of services and a system that criminalizes victims of human trafficking she cofounded Ransomed Life, a faith-based non-profit organization in the Central Texas area. Ransomed Life provides human trafficking training, public awareness, and prevention as well as a survivor’s mentoring program. She served as the Executive director until her and her family relocated to Michigan in 2016.
